Reasons to Get Fluffy a Cat Tower

May 15, 2021

Does your fel ine buddy have her own cat tower? If not, you may want to get her one. Although getting Fluffy a big piece of ‘purrniture’ may seem like over-the-top pampering, towers are actually very beneficial for kitties. A local Spring Hill, TN vet lists some reasons why in this article.

Vantage Point

Fluffy can’t see very well from floor level. This is one reason cats like to climb to higher vantage points. In the wild, this allows them to keep an eye on what is going on around them, and be aware of any predators or prey in the area. (Our feline overlords also seem to enjoy looking down on their kingdoms with that smug, happy look they get sometimes, but that’s another point.)

Escape Route

Does Fluffy share her home with other pets, such as a dog or another kitty? While our furry friends can become close, at other times they tend to bicker. A cat tower gives your cute pet a place she can escape to if she feels scared.

Safety

Some cat towers offer enclosed kitty condos. These are great for kitties that are easily frightened. Fluffy tends to feel very safe and secure in small spaces. (This may also be why our feline pals are so fond of boxes, though it’s hard to say for sure.)

Birdwatching

Want to score some extra purrs and head bonks? Put Fluffy’s tower near a window with a good view. Being able to sunbathe, watch local wildlife, and nap in one spot make towers a definite paws-up for kitties!

P eticure Station

Speaking of paws, towers also give Fluffy a great way for her to keep her claws sharp. Taking care of those tiny nails is crucial to kitties survival in the wild. Cats like to stretch to their full length when doing their nails, which is easy with a tower.

Exercise

Another great thing about cat towers is the fact that they encourage Fluffy to climb and jump. These things are great for her physically!

Sleeve Snag

Kitties have some pretty adorable ways of demanding attention. One of Fluffy’s cutest? Grabbing your sleeve with her paw as you walk by. Cat towers are purrfect for this!
