Things Your Cat Will Do This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is coming up fast. Many people are getting ready for the autumn holiday, and anticipating enjoying some delicious food with their loved ones. Our feline patients actually have a few traditions of their own. Read on as a Spring Hill, TN vet lists some of the things on Fluffy’s holiday agenda.

Supervise Cooking

Your feline pal will definitely pay attention to what’s going on in the kitchen. She may also be quite interested in sampling those savory dishes. She may also get underfoot, or just keep rubbing against your legs. (Tip: Bribing your furball by giving her something special, such as a cannedf tuna, may be a good way to keep her out of mischief.)

Beauty Ritual

Cats are very clean, which is one of the many reasons that they make such good pets. Of course, they could be a bit more discreet about their beauty regimens. Fluffy has no qualms about cleaning her nether regions in a room full of guests, which is a bit rude.

Nap

Holiday or no holiday, Fluffy will still diligently keep up with her rigorous napping schedule. She may move from lap to lap, or just take advantage of warm, recently-vacated seats. (Note: if you plan to put people’s jackets on a bed, you may want to keep that room closed. Otherwise, your furball will probably fall asleep on somebody’s coat.

Pass Judgement

Your furball will also spend a good chunk of the day just watching you and your guests, and forming opinions about everyone. We all know that smug, superior look cats get!

Playtime

Kitties are always adorable when they’re feeling frisky. Get Fluffy a fun new plaything, and wear her out with a vigorous play session. You may want to keep a laser pointer near your favorite chair. That way, it’s in easy reach as you are relaxing … or getting through that food coma.

Enjoy A Special Treat

Fluffy deserves something delicious. She can have some of that turkey. Cats can also have plain, cooked meat or fish. Just remove the skin, bones, and fat first. Ask your vet for more information on safe and unsafe foods.

Cuddle
